1. Time is not a fixed constant in our universe. It is necessary and intrinsic but it’s not fixed. Time is relative to your speed.
2. We measure time by measuring one change against another change. One can consider measuring time by the number of events that occur within some period.
3. We have less time as we get older.
4. We loose time as we age by traveling faster and we can gain time back by traveling more slowly. (1. & 3)
5. Changes we measure our time against are getting longer/slower when we get older and we can gain time by apprehending and appreciating more changes in our environment.(1. & 2).
6. If you want to more time in your life slow down and smell the roses. (4 & 5)
I used to love my local library when I was a kid. I recently went back after working a few years in a university library and it was a major disappointment. The texts all seem so simple and boring. Nothing stimulating at all.
I think I never want to work outside the academic sector again. The loss of ready access to academic texts and articles would just be too much to bear.
